Carl Slater and Jamie Barrett have made history by being the first players to put pen to paper for the newly formed Gresley FC.

First team coach Dave Fleary has been released from the club by manager Gary Norton.

We have just been informed by the officials at Heanor that unfortuntately today's game has been called off.

The game at The Moat Ground was abandoned after just 12 minutes of the first half due to a Gresley supporter being taken very seriously ill.

Gresley face a tough encounter tomorrow (Saturday) at the Greene King Stadium as Downes 'parent' club Conference North Hinckley United are providing at least five of their first team with Danny Pitham, Jack Roberts, Jarred Pickering, Louis Hamilton and Danny Newton all set to feature.

Mickey Lyons completes his final game of his three match suspension. However, he will also miss a fourth game due to holiday commitments.

Gresley travel to Greenwood Meadows tomorrow (3pm) for their penultimate away fixture and with games running out they will be hoping for three more points to keep the pressure on Meadows' close neighbours Dunkirk who are in second place and table toppers Bardon Hill Sports who have completed their fixtures.
