Bardon Hill Pre-Match News
Gresley FC will be without Rob Spencer (work commitments), Mark Blount (deadleg), Matt Weightman (groin) and brothers Adam and Tom Betteridge (university commitment and calf injury respectively) for the home fixture against Bardon Hill Sports at the Moat Ground tonight.
In addition Manager Gary Norton will have to wait until late afternoon to see if defender Rhys Powell, who made his league debut against Barrow, is likely to make it back from London in time to face the second placed Leicestershire outfit. But if not Matt Hill will step in at right-back.Jordi Gough will return to the starting line-up while Stefan Marshall who made an appearance against Barrow on Saturday is close to a starting role and joins the squad.
Gareth Langford has been recalled to the squad after he played a game on loan at Stapenhill on Saturday whilst goalkeeper Gary Hateley returns to the squad after missing Saturday's game through work commitments.
Manager Gary Norton has been boosted by the news that goalkeeper Simon Baldwin seems set to stay at the Moat Ground. Baldwin was the subject of a seven-day notice of approach from Saturday’s opponents Barrow, but has decided to fight for his shirt at Gresley.
Norton said: “The seven days were up on Monday, but as far as I am concerned he is available for selection. Barrow agreed to end their interest, and although they haven’t formally withdrawn their approach, I’m hoping we can keep Simon because we want to have two top keepers.”
