New Volunteers for New Era?
Gresley FC are asking their supporters to get behind the club by volunteering on a match day. In readiness for the clubs first season in the East Midland Counties League, Gresley have a need to secure the services of dedicated people prepared to help on a consistent basis.
Currently there are opportunities in a number of areas and the football club is urging everyone to consider whether they could help the ground staff, serve at the bar, help at the gate, operate the PA system, work in hospitality or form and manage a ladies side.

Over several years the club has lost key people and is surviving on a smaller group of people doing an increasing amount of work. The Chairman of Gresley FC, Mark Harrison, said, “Amongst other things this club is well known for the high level of support it receives at home and away matches but it would be nice if some of the fans who are regular at home matches thought about volunteering.”

“On a match day we would all like to turn up to simply watch the match but sadly that isn’t possibly and I was hoping that with the club being reformed more people would come forward. Football club’s at our level are reliant on volunteers and I would ask everyone to help a little more. If several people said they would help once every other match that would make a big impact over the season and help the club make the sort of progress we would all like to see.”

The previous Ladies Manager Neil Taylor was forced to resign from the club, after switching to the reserves, due to work commitments and the Moatmen would like to establish a women’s team to be considered a true family orientated club.
