Goalkeeper Signs
Gresley FC have today completed the registration of 26 year old goalkeeper Gary Hateley.
Gary's last club was Grantham and he lists Shepshed, Kettering, AFC Telford, Bedworth and Bromsgrove as some of his other previous clubs. Hateley contacted manager Gary Norton about joining the club after securing his release from Grantham due to issues with travelling and will contest for the goalkeeper's spot with current incumbent Simon Baldwin.
On the latest addition to his squad Norton said: "for the majority of the season Simon Baldwin has been the only recognised keeper at the club.
"Even the Reserve side have been playing with an outfield player in goal (Paul Hollis).
"We have been looking for a number of weeks and wanted to bring someone in to give Simon competition for the shirt just like we have for every other place in the team.
"We needed another quality keeper with us in case of injury or unavailability so Gary contacting us offering to join was great news and very timely.
"Like Simon, he's a fantastic goalkeeper and will certainly strengthen us in that department. We are also hoping to sign another keeper for the Reserve side in the next few days."
