Sutton Pre-Match News
Gresley FC make the trip to Sutton Town for their second pre-season game without eight of the team that started the game at Meir KA on Saturday.
Trialists Adam and Tom Betteridge will be missing from the squad as they are scheduled to appear for another club who are chasing the pair whilst another trialist, central defender Mark Stryzewski who impressed in Saturday's win is now out of the country on holiday until next week. Gresley are in competition for the defender's signature with a UniBond club and manager Gary Norton hopes to be able to hold further talks on his return from holiday.
In addition Micky Lyons, Stef Marshall and goalkeeper Simon Baldwin will be missing through work commitments whilst utility player Matt Hill is away on holiday.
Forward Andy Elliot who signed for the club last week will also miss the game through a thigh strain picked up in Saturday's game.
Elliot played for Ibstock and Barrow Town last season in the East Midlands Counties League and is the latest addition to Norton's squad for the upcoming campaign.
Jamie Barrett and Callum Keenan are both recovering from swine flu and are expected back in training later in the week whilst Jordi Gough has a back problem that continues to rule him out of action.
Chris Mawbey and Johnny Shales are added to those who were on duty on Saturday and Norton intends to use the fixture to take a further look at several trialists.
Reserve team goalkeeper Stewart Haywood is included in the squad with both Baldwin and fellow Reserve stopper Tom Allen unavailable whilst Reserve player coach Andy Dunn will also make the trip.
