Another busy week has seen a few more players added to the Gresley squad including some local young talent.
Gresley will play Sutton Coldfield Town away in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup due to be played on 25th August.
Gresley FC are planning a Family Fun day on August Bank Holiday Sunday in order to raise club funds.
Gresley make one of their longest journeys to begin their new league season as they travel to league new boys Brighouse Town on Saturday 18th August.
Due to England playing in the 3rd & 4th game against Belgium at 3pm, the kick off for our match at the Moat against Thringstone MW has been brought forward to 1pm.
The England game will be shown in the Social Club.
Due to Gresley playing Sutton Coldfield in the FA Cup two weeks after the planned pre-season friendly on 11th August, it was agreed by both clubs that the friendly be cancelled.

With deepest regrets it's become clear recently that revered local legend Dave Hackett is suffering from a brain tumour.
Gresley manager Gary Norton will use todays friendly at the Moat ground against Matlock Town (3pm) to give some more of the club's young guns an opportunity to shine and show what they can do.
"Today at the Matlock Town friendly, I collected on behalf of the Supporters Club towards the Macmillan fund being raised on behalf of our beloved Dave Hackett. I'm delighted to say that thanks to your generosity and that of the Matlock fans, we raised over £230 today which given the crowd is a great amount. It was the easiest collection I've ever done and that's a testament to what Dave means to all of us at the club.

The club are running a coach to Brighouse on Saturday 18th August.

Dominic Allen has decided to leave Gresley on the eve of the season to re-join former club Belper Town. After discussion with Manager Gary Norton the 7 days Belper issued for Dom yesterday was waived to allow him to sign for Belper ahead of the season starting on Saturday.

Gresley embark on the Emirates FA Cup preliminary round (Saturday 3pm) in the hope of going further in the competition than last season when we suffered defeat against Brocton a team 2 leagues below. A massive thank-you to everyone who took part in our club fundraiser held at the Moat ground on Sunday afternoon. It was great to see many of our old club’s legends on show from the old Gresley Rovers past and many of our more recent Gresley FC stars from the last decade we have been in existence.

We have taken delivery of a new remembrance badge which feature the Gresley FC badge and a poppy. They are £4 each with a £1 donated to the Poppy Appeal. They will be available on Saturday (10th Nov) at the reserve team's Derbyshire Cup game at the Moat Ground.

Yesterday’s fund raising match held at Gresley FC to help raise funds for Jamie Barrett’s wife Leanne to help with her ongoing battle with cancer was a huge success with almost £9000 raised.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) night's u18's game at the Moat Ground against Mansfield Town has been postponed.
It is with sadness that we have to report the death of former Gresley Rovers player/coach Phil Aston on the 27th November, aged 94 years.
Phil made his debut against Hinckley Athletic at the Moat on 24th August 1957 and played his final game against Wolverhampton Wanderers A away on 3rd May 1958 making a total of 29 appearances.
Our condolences go to Phil's family and friends.
Two players have decided to leave the club this week. Attacking players Alex Steadman and Kieran O’Connell have left the club joining Loughborough Dynamo and South Normanton Athletic respectively.
Due to the last few days of rain, we will be carrying out a precautionary pitch inspection at 10.30am in view of the distance our opposition Pontefract have to travel.

Yesterday the behaviour of some of our fans at the Loughborough game let themselves and the club down and may have serious repercussions for the club.
The Board will be investigating alleged incidents and will not hesitate to take action against any individuals who have crossed a line of acceptable behaviour.

Manager Gary Norton has added another to his squad with the signing of young forward Jordan Dodd. 18-year-old Dodd signs from Rocester FC where he was leading scorer so far this season and joins the Moatmen looking to see if he can make the step up to Evo-Stik level.

The Northern Premier League can confirm that AFC Mansfield will be relegated from the Evo-Stik League East Division at the conclusion of Season 2018/2019.
Club officials accepted that the required ground grading criteria would not be met by the deadline of 31st March and tendered their resignation, along with a request to The Football Association to be placed at Step 5 of the National League System for Season 2019/2020.
No further comment will be made.

Due to the unavailability of many of the ex-players we were hoping would be able to play, the decision was taken to re-plan the event sometime in August.
However, the planned triangular tournament between Gresley Supporters Club, Burton Albion Supporters Club and a Stapenhill Vet side will go ahead kicking off around 1pm. The Social club will be open from noon.

Hi to all, we at the Supporters Club are trying to help with the pitch for next season. As we now have a 25% stake in the club, that figure seems a good thing to focus on. We are selling a grid of 11x11 squares totalling 121 to fans, businesses and groups who would help us raise money to improve our pitch for the 2019/20 season.
Gresley's fate will be decided this afternoon at Pontefract. Should they win and Carlton lose at Marske, then Gresley will retain their step 4 status.

After discussions last night, the Supporters Club have purchased 48 squares totaling £1200 and we've now sold 98 squares as of this morning and there's just 23 left at £25 a square.

The final match on the Moat Ground for this season sees Gresley Reserves going for an unprecedented Triple Double as they take on Moors Academy Reserves kick off 3pm.
It was disappointment for Gresley as the Reserves lost at the Moat in the Challenge Trophy Final.

After three very successful seasons, Reserve team managers Richard Jarvis and Todd Foster have decided to step down.
Todd Foster & Rich Jarvis have stepped down as Gresley Reserves managers, their three seasons in charge, bought 3 Midland Football League Reserve Division titles & 2 Midland Football League Challenge Trophies to the Moat Ground.
The awards night will be held in the Social Club on Saturday 8th June starting at 7.30pm.
Sponsors and volunteers welcome. Supporters are also welcome to join us, Admission is £5 which is a contribution to the buffet.

Following the first Board meeting since the works on the pitch have been completed, we want to say a massive thank you to all the people who donated and/or gave up their time. We will now have a pitch to be proud of and enable better passing football to take place. The Board especially wants to thank Bryan McIntosh and his Adient workforce who have worked tirelessly on the project.
The Board have decided to offer free entry to any fan wishing to attend next Saturday's presentation evening (7.30pm) with just a voluntary donation as a thank you for their loyal support.
