Todd & Jarv
Todd Foster & Rich Jarvis have stepped down as Gresley Reserves managers, their three seasons in charge, bought 3 Midland Football League Reserve Division titles & 2 Midland Football League Challenge Trophies to the Moat Ground.
Before taking charge of the Moatmen's second string they were both part of Steve Gee's coaching team for a very successful five-year spell in charge of Gresley Under 18's.Speaking to the club website Todd & Rich spoke about their time in charge:
"We've loved every minute of the last three years in charge of the Reserves and the five before that with the Under 18's but due to personal circumstances we both feel it's time to step down.
"To be involved in the club we’ve both supported since boyhood has been amazing, we've had many memorable matches, a few that spring to mind are ‘Moatstanbul’ in the Challenge Trophy Final in 2017 when we trailed 3-0 with 84 minutes played before coming back to win on penalties against a very talented side Romulus two of whom are now with Football League clubs. Last season’s double winning campaign was sealed with outstanding Trophy final win away at our closest rivals Alvechurch, & this season’s biggest win was a 1-0 victory away at Worcester City which put the title back in our hands.
"20+ players have progressed from the Reserves to play First Team football over the three seasons, and we both agree that our proudest moment in football was the 2-1 win away at Carlton Town last season, when we helped Gaz Norton fulfill the club's last three First Team fixtures, with a side that included only a couple remaining first team players, a 16 year old playing at right back for the first time ever and our Reserve Team goalkeeper playing upfront. We both walked off the pitch that night quite emotional.
"We'd like to thank the following people, all the players who have played over the years you've done us proud, all the parents who have helped out with the travelling etc, Ricky & Chris our coaches who are now taking over from us your dedication has been amazing, Wendy & Paul Stretton who do an outstanding job with all the club's kits, Harry Southern in the Social Club (we'll be able to enjoy a stress free pint now), Claire & Lee Harvey, Sally Lansdowne and Gareth Harper for all the food provided. It's true that all Non-League clubs need volunteers and we have some great ones involved in our club!
Also, a massive thanks to Dean & Kev at Borley's Minimix, Andy at Purple Bricks & our great friend Kyle Forryan for all your support and sponsorship.
We both want to remain involved within the club in some role and will still be regulars at the Moat Ground has we've always been!
All the best to Ricky & Chris for next season!
Thanks
