Gresley Fun Day
A massive thank-you to everyone who took part in our club fundraiser held at the Moat ground on Sunday afternoon. It was great to see many of our old club’s legends on show from the old Gresley Rovers past and many of our more recent Gresley FC stars from the last decade we have been in existence.
Despite the fact we had to re arrange the event after the August bank holiday washout I was really pleased with the turnout on Sunday which helped us raise some much-needed funds for the club.

Our supporters club went down 2-1 against Burton Albion supporters club in the warm up to the main reunion game event on a game I ended up being referee. I enjoyed it but it made me realise how difficult the job is and it’s definitely one I won’t be looking to volunteer for again any time soon.

So many of the players and supporters who took part and many more who for various reasons were unable to make it have mentioned we should do something similar again and so we will look to put something in the diary - perhaps on Easter Sunday next year. We will keep you posted on potential dates.

It was so pleasing to see several of our old Wembley and Southern league club legends on show and most I spoke to afterwards thoroughly enjoyed the game. The same went for our Gresley FC back to back title winning lads. Unfortunately, so many couldn’t make the day but hopefully can make the next one and help us raise much more needed funds.

The Red team was made up of the following:
Lucas Harrison, Ryan Clemson, Matt Millns, Lee Barrow, Scott Elliott, Richard Wardle, Carl Slater, Jake McIntosh, Kieron Smith, Paul Acklam and Richard Hanslow.

The White team:
Tom Gutteridge, Gareth Langford, Gil Land, Jamie Barrett, Jordi Gough, Callum Riddell, Craig Weston, Danny Holmes, Neil Lovell, Royce Turvill and Kev ‘The Viking’ Allsop.
