Keeper Signs In
Gresley FC can confirm agreement has been reached with Burton Albion for the 3 month loan of goalkeeper Jack Livesey.
The 17-year-old stopper has featured in several of Gresley's pre-season games and impressed greatly. Jack joined Burton in January 2018 on a 3-year deal from Scottish side Partick Thistle and trains daily with the Brewers first team.
Had a brief spell on loan last season at Belper Town. Jack was born in Plymouth but moved to Scotland as his father is based up there in the Royal Navy but currently lives in Stretton in a club house so ideally located for his loan spell with Gresley.
Jack's loan paperwork will be completed next week ahead of the season opener against Brighouse next Saturday.
Manager Gary Norton is delighted with the addition of Jack to the squad and told GresleyFC.com "We are really pleased to have reached agreement with both Jack and Burton for the short term loan along the same lines we did with Callum Hawkins last season.
Jack has integrated well with the squad in the short time he has been with us and impressed during the game he has played. The experience playing for us will do him good as it did Callum who has now progressed and got his first team squad number at Burton."
Norton added, "The goalkeeper area has been a concern and whilst youngster Ben Allsop has done everything asked of him in pre-season and is a very bright prospect there are small areas of his game that need a little work. That said he's working hard in training, has a great attitude and will be pushing for the shirt even whilst Jack is with us."
