Hinckley AFC Pre-Match News
Gresley take on Hinckley AFC at the Moat Ground later today (3pm) in their latest pre-season fixture.
Hinckley are managed by former Moatman James Jepson who made 86 appearances for the club between 2011 and 2015. Manager Gary Norton will not be present at the game due to a pre-arranged personal commitment made several months ago so assistant manager Carl Slater and player coach Jamie Barrett will oversee today’s affairs.
Former South Normanton Athletic defender Kane Jellyman who impressed in pre-season games to date signed for the club after Thursday night's 2-0 defeat to Kettering Town and assistant managed Carl Slater believes he will be a good asset for the squad.
“Kane has been a big plus point for us so far in pre-season”, commented Slater. He added: “Kane has impressed in both training and the games we have had so far and earns himself the opportunity to have a crack at playing Evo-Stik football. He looks solid, has a great attitude and has pace to burn and we are really pleased he’s signed for us”
Midfielder Zack Hill is added to the squad for the game and Slater will check on the fitness of Zakim Evans after the winger pulled out of Thursday night's game as a precaution complaining of a slight problem with his Achilles. Connor Ward also returns to the squad but Josh Garland, Alex Steadman, Mark Branch and trialist Cam Steele are all unavailable.
Forward Kane Lee is still out with a foot injury picked up in the last Reserve team game of last season.
