Gresley Rovers vs Beacon Park

Gresley Rovers 0 - 3 Beacon Inn

Team: Tom Allen, Danny Gee, Gaz Jones(c), Adam Leniham, Stu Hayward, Nathan Holmes, Nathan Venning, Matt Holmes, Chris Smith, Dean Acton, Rich Hanslow.

Played Beacon Inn today in the cup and with injuries only had 11 players which included 2 keepers!
So Stu Hayward played out at right back and was superb, his commitment, attitude and ability was brilliant. We went 2-0 down in the first half and Nathan Holmes made a great save with both hands, which luckily the ref missed, so at half time we were still 2 down.

Second half we again competed for everything and early on lost Matt Holmes to a knee injury so down to 10 men we still looked good. Then Nathan Venning was injured, knee again, so for 32 minutes played with only 9 lads, and to be honest you couldn't tell, cos the lads left were outstanding! Thought everyone today should be proud because you battled for everything and made me so proud of you ALL!

Special thanks to Steve Pepper & Zak Venning who turned up with less than an hour's notice only to find we couldn't play you because it was a cup game. Thanks to both of you (the forms are in lads so your both part of Gresley Rovers now)

Wouldn't have man of match today cos you were ALL SUPERB however couldn't argue with Beacons choice of Gaz Jones so well done Gaz.

WELL DONE TO ALL OF YOU can't wait till we play them with a full team?
