Gresley Rovers vs Shepshed Dynamo

The Reserves came within a whisker of making it 7 straight wins on the trot when they were denied by an injury time wonder strike from Shepsheds Andy Dunn. With the game poised at 2-1 to Rovers and into injury time, Dunn smashed a superb volley from 35 yards out into the top corner of Mark Sheils net for the equalising goal. However Rovers should have had the game wrapped up and paid for missed chances.

Gresley came out of the traps flying, playing some wonderful football and took the lead in the 4th minute when Moran crossed for Ryan Yearsley to score at the near post against his former club. Shepshed equalised 10 minutes after the restart when a long ball caught Grosse in the Rovers defence napping and Damian Heskey got in behind the defence and cooly lobbed Mark Sheils. Carl Timms mazy run was brought to an abrupt end on the edge of the Shepshed box and James Lewesley restored Rovers lead with the resultant free kick on 59mins. Ryan Yearsley had a couple of good chances to kill the game off but the former Shepshed striker missed the target on two occasions when he should have done better.

The missed chances proved costly when Dunn stepped up with his equaliser in the 2nd minutes of injury time.
