Gresley FC vs Barwell
A late winner from substitute Jordan Dent saw the reserves remain in second place behind the leaders Chasetown after this hard fought game against Barwell.
Avery even first 45minutes saw Barwell`s Alex Ball miss a good chance and another effort brilliantly saved by Gresley `keeper George Woodward. Gresley`s best chance saw a shot by Callum McBride from a Rikki Birch cross turned around the post by Barwell`s keeper Oswald.
The second half saw Gresley forced to make two changes with Ryan Browne and Adam Hallifax replacing skipper Steve Dennahy and Adam Johnson. The game really opened up with the visitors having two decent chances to open the scoring.
In the last change after 77 minutes Jordan Dent replaced Rikki Birch and this proved to be the deciding point of the game as with only seconds left in normal time a long ball over the top saw Dent control and then lob the ball over the Barwell keeper into the net to great celebration amongst his teammates.
Several minutes of added on time were played but the team held out to record yet another victory in what is turning out to be a great season for the reserve team.
