Today we travelled to Brocton on the back of two defeats so it was important that we got back to winning ways but more importantly a good performance.

For the game today I decided to change our formation from 4-4-2 to a diamond formation to give us a bit more security at the back and also to give us another dimension going forward.

We started the game well putting Brocton under pressure and we created at least six or seven good opportunities to go ahead but we just couldn't get that telling touch when we needed to.

With Craig Tucker just sat in the hole behind the front two causing Brocton problems and Chris Burnham and Dave Williams working hard together as the front two we always looked dangerous and after two or three consecutive corners the ball was half cleared by Brocton and the ball fell to Craig Tucker on the edge of the 18 yard box who curled a brilliant right foot shot into the top corner to make it 1-0 on the half hour mark.

After the goal we carried on playing some decent football and probably created another three or four good chances but our second came from Sam Worth who anticipated superbly the ball from the keeper to their left back and nipped in to slot the ball under the keeper's body from 15 yards to make it 2-0 at half time.

The team talk at half time was simple just more of the same for the next 45 and that was pretty much what they delivered.

I expected Brocton to come out second half with all guns blazing and they did and they had 5 or 10 minute spell where they put us under a little bit of pressure but we defended well and gained momentum to get back into the game and create some good scoring opportunities.

With half an hour left I brought on Andy Dunn for Joe Swift who had a slight knock and Ash Franklin for Dave Williams and went 4-3-2-1.

This caused Brocton problems and couldn't cope with our passing and movement and we finally got our third with some good work down our right by Craig Tucker and Darryl Towle. The ball was eventually played inside to Sam Worth 20 yards out who looked up and curled a right foot shot into the far top corner to give him his second and our third and that was how the game ended.

The performance today was pleasing and we kept a clean sheet which is always good and scored three good goals. Our passing and movement was good at times and our shape on the whole was good so overall a good afternoon, the most important thing is that we build on today next Saturday at home to Walsall Wood.
