Shepshed Dynamo vs Gresley Rovers
Alan's
lament
A
3-1 defeat at Shepshed on Saturday 7th October 2000
left Gresley reserve boss Alan Titterton ruing his
team's inability to turn chances into goals.
Said
Titterton: "Every game we play seems the same- we
have 90 per cent of the play but lose because we can't
find the net."
After
a goalless first period, Jamie Newbold gave the Dovecote
outfit the lead after the 55th minute. Then Lee Farrell
made it 2-0 when he beat Rovers' new keeper Ian Simms
with a 30-yard free kick.
Gary
Norton and Nick Tyrell linked up to give Nathan Sykes
the chance to trim the home team's advantage in the
83rd minute but former Gresley player Ryan Yearsley
wrapped up the points for the home team two minutes
later.
