Shepshed Dynamo vs Gresley Rovers

After the battling performance of Monday, the 1st half here was very disappointing, as we rolled over and we're dominated by a poor Shepshed side, so much so that we went in at half time 1-0 down.

There were more than a few harsh words from myself at half time in a bid to buck them up, it seemed to work as we came out in the 2nd half a different team, although we couldn't get that equaliser.

I decided to change the formation to 3-5-2 and make two substitutions it seemed to work, we were making more chances and starting to dominate, we got our equaliser through a great though ball from Super Ryan into the path of Kamar Smithen who skipped round a defender and the keeper to coolly slot the ball home 1-1.

We continued to make chance after chance, Ian Roberts our former keeper in their nets pulling off some quite fantastic saves to deny us the winner, until it came in the 89th minute thanks to a shot from full on 35 yards from Darren Hurr which crashed off the bar, the ball looped up and Yearsley was the quickest to react as he lobbed his header over the stranded Roberts, 2-1, the winner!

100% better performance in the 2nd half, and a deserved victory. This win gave us a finish of joint 4th, 7 points off finishing champions, we all know where those points were lost and it was against teams in the bottom half of the league, its something we need to improve on next season, we need to put the lesser teams away, then who knows?
