John Topliss

John Topliss married Sarah Louise Chadbourn (also of Gresley). He died in 1939 in his early fifties.
John became an engine-winder at Rufford Colliery and was a significant trade unionist.
Also a Methodist local preacher and a Justice of the Peace.
Opened his home in Rainworth, Nottinghamshire for Primitive Methodist services before the chapel was built.
George who also played for Gresley Rovers was his third son.
