Jack Richards
Jack was one of the first players signed by Gresley Rovers when it was formed in 1882.
He was killed in a tragic accident at New Granville Colliery, Swadlincote the day before a scheduled Coalville Charity Cup Final on April 14th 1899.
The game was re-arranged for 22nd April which Gresley won 1-0. The official attendance was over 1,000 at the Fox & Goose ground, Coalville.
