Ken died 13 June 2008 aged 76 years in Littleover, Derby.
Among his other achievements was the award of the Royal Life Saving Bronze Medallion when he was only 14, for rescuing a lady fom the water.
After leaving Derby County, where he played twice for the first team, but mainly for the A team and the reserves, he also played for Matlock Town, and Belper Town before joining Sutton Town in February 1955.
