Geoff left Gresley after a serious knee injury.
He went on to become a top goalscorer for Eastwood Town under manager Bill Jeffrey for several years before the old injury came back to haunt him and had to retire from the game altogether.
Geoff unfortunately has had to endure SIX OPERATIONS ON THE SAME KNEE including a cruciate ligament reconstruction.
