Tommy's Gresley career was interrupted by the close down of leagues 1916-1919.
Coalville Swifts winger Tommy Brownlow was born in Coalville in 1892 and died in Leicester in 1966.
He took the left flank for Leicester Fosse against Notts County and Bradford City on successive afternoons at Easter 1917.
Before the war, he'd played with Coalville Town, Coalville PSA & Gresley Rovers during which he had a brief stint in the Machine Gun Corps before returning to work at Snibston Colliery.
Afterwards he featured for Coalville Town (in two further spells), Shepshed Albion, Stableford's Works, Whitwick Imperial and Gresley Rovers.
