Chris was involved in a road accident at the age of 20yrs where he sustained a compound fracture of the right femur (thigh) a triple compound fracture of the left tibia and fibula, broke both wrists, three ribs, jawbone, kneecap, had 125 stitches, and 5 1/2 pints of blood. It took him 5 years to get back in to playing football again, but because of the many injuries always struggled to do training and play as well, which is why he would always get out of training if at all possible.
