Emmanuel, who was born in Hugglescote, left Gresley to play for Leicester City (Fosse) as a right back. He was drafted in by Fosse as cover for the recently-bereaved Sam Currie in the home game with Hull City in February 1919.
He signed for Gresley Rovers in August 1919 switching to outside-right and also played several games as a pro for Leicester City reserves during 1920/21 winning a Senior Cup medal.
Emmanuel joined Burton All Saints in 1921, Coalville Swifts again in 1922, Ibstock Colliery a year later, and Stableford's Works in February 1925.
Emmanuel sadly died in Coalville February 1988 aged 95 years.
