Gresley Rovers face opposition from the United Counties League in the third round of the FA Vase.
Rovers’ reward for Saturday’s extra-time triumph at Warwick is a home tie against either Holbeach United or Raunds Town on December 15th.The UCL rivals drew 2-2 at Holbeach on Saturday and renew rivalries in a replay tomorrow night.
Former Gresley favourite Michael Guest could be on his way back to the Moat Ground.
Manager Frank Northwood revealed on Saturday that the club has given seven-days notice of their intention to approach Guest, who is currently on the books of Banks’s League rivals Halesowen Harriers.
Guest, a midfielder or defender, left Gresley at the end of last season after telling Northwood that he did not want to travel regularly from his home at Halesowen.
Northwood is also hoping to clinch the signing of Keith Maxwell, a midfield player or attacker currently with Heanor Town.
Maxwell is named in an 18-man Gresley squad for tonight’s Evans Halshaw Floodlit Cup clash with Rocester at the Moat Ground (7.30pm).
Rocester will be without experienced defender Kevin Barry because of work commitments.
