Rovers ready to rely on Rob

Teenager Robbie Grant stands by for his Gresley Rovers debut in tonight’s top-of-the-table clash at Halesowen Harriers (7.30pm).
Grant is one of three youngsters drafted into a 15-man squad by manager Frank Northwood to cover for the absence of two experienced players.Stylish sweeper Steve Astley is unavailable because of work commitments. And his natural replacement – former skipper Dean Page – is also ruled out by work.
Said Northwood: “Robbie is a big lad who’s played a lot of first team football in the Beazer Homes League with Bilston. I’m quite happy that he’ll do a good job for us.”
Grant, who made his first appearance in a Gresley shirt in Saturday’s 3-1 reserve team win over Lye, is joined in the squad by former Bilston clubmate Dave Trend, another recent signing, and local defender Dave Sherry, who made his first team debut as substitute in the 3-2 Evans Halshaw Floodlit Trophy win at Leicester United a week ago.
Striker Paul Acklam has recovered from flu and is restored to the squad.
