No rest for Moat Ground boss

Gresley fans may still be purring from a sparkling 7-1 victory over Pelsall in midweek but the Moat Ground managerial team are not sparing time to admire their handiwork.
Rovers boss Frank Northwood and assistant Steve Dolby are refusing to be complacent and are busily trying to improve a team already regarded as the most talented in the Banks’s League.Dolby believes “there is always room for improvement” and, with Northwood, locked in talks that could bring two new players to the club.
Former Burton Albion defender Keith Collins is one target but he will be turning out for Rushall against the Rovers tomorrow.
“Kevin has agreed terms with us but there are another couple of clubs interested in him and he also wants to talk to them. He has also had close links with Rushall and he wants to be fair and play for them tomorrow.
“We have also made moves towards another player. Frank talked to him last night. I can’t say who but he is a quality player – which of course he would have to be for us to be interested. We have a good squad but that doesn’t mean we can sit back. If good players become available we will try to sign them – depending on finances of course.”
Tuesday’s comprehensive victory was a real tonic to Rovers following their 3-1 defeat at Oldbury but Dolby believes it’s time tomorrow for his players to come back down to earth.
He said: “It’s a different game tomorrow. We have to get through to the players that it’s 0-0 and we have to start all over again.”
