Cinderford pre-match news
Manager Jon Newsome is expected to keep faith with the same squad that faced Rocester last Saturday and is hoping to keep the winning run going.
“We are confident, but I hope we don’t become over confident. That’s how you can get tripped up. We have not played our best football yet this season and the wins have come by hard graft. We really need to consolidate our position in the top four and six points from the Cinderford game and the midweek game at home against Rugby would do that. We have an 100 per cent record at home so far and we want that to carry on.” Newsome remarked. The only slight doubts for Saturday’s game are Ian Bluck (hamstring) and Stuart Evans who took a slight knock during training.
Defender Owen James could get a place on the subs bench as cover.
Two long term injuries have had some good news.
Keeper Mark Shiels has been given the all-clear to begin training and defender Lee Withers as begun work on boosting his fitness.
Newsome said: “Mark is able to start training again which is great for both him and the club. I’ve told him to take things easy and not to rush things but he can now see the light at the end of a very long dark tunnel. Lee is almost there and will be joining in with the training but taking things nice and steady.”
Striker Chris White is waiting for the results of a scan on his troublesome ankle problem and Jim Lewsley needs longer to recover from his knee injury.
