Gresley Rovers are busy widening their pitch in a late bid to improve their promotion hopes.
The Beazer League ground grading committee have asked the club to bring the pitch size up to requirements and the work is nearing completion.

Rovers chairman Peter Hall said: “The grading committee measured the pitch and the width fell short. We have got on to it straight away and the work is nearly finished.

Rovers must now write to Beazer League secretary Dennis Strudwick informing him that the pitch has been brought up to scratch.

“We were told to write within 14 days,” said Hall. “We are in the process of doing that at the moment.”

That will keep Gresley in the promotion hunt along with Banks’s League rivals Rocester and still-to-be-inspected Hinckley Town.
