Gresley Rovers are left kicking their heels tomorrow –thanks to the Banks’s Brewery League fixture computer.
That means an unwelcome break for Frank Northwood’s men who showed signs in the 3-0 win over Lye on Saturday that they were returning to peak form after a dismal run including two consecutive home defeats.

Harsh words followed from manager Frank Northwood: and they clearly had the desired effect.

Coach Steve Dolby said after the game: “That was as good a performance I’ve seen since I came back to the club. I thought we were brilliant at times today.”

Dolby diagnosed definite signs that Rovers’ disappointing run had acted as a fillip to his players saying: “There was a bit of reaction from the defeat by Malvern on Tuesday. The main thing was the front three all played very well and gave us a lot of options. That makes a big difference.”

Rovers turn their attention to the Evans Halshaw Floodlit Cup on Tuesday night when Eastwood Town visit the Moat Ground (7.30pm).

Eastwood have so far won all their games in the western group which they lead on goal difference from Gresley who have played a game more.

The top two teams from the group go into the semi final alongside the top pair from the eastern group which features Gainsborough Trinity, Grantham, Spalding United and Holbeach United.
