Rovers job for Fearn
Story courtesy of Burton Mail
Graham Fearn has been named as Gresley’s new first-team coach following Steve Dolby’s switch to Burton Albion.
Rovers’ boss Frank Northwood, announcing the appointment today, said: “Graham’s a similar sort of character to Steve Dolby. I’m sure he’ll prove a popular choice. He’s been coaching the second team and has done a super job.”Fearn is a vastly experienced midfielder who has played at the highest level of non-league football, but he has been unable to establish himself as a first team player since joining Rovers 18 months ago.
Northwood said: “Graham’s found it difficult playing in the Banks’s League because our system hasn’t suited his style of play.”
Fearn, a former Burton Albion player, said: “I’m delighted to be given the job because Gresley are such a good club. Frank’s got his own style and with my experience I’m sure we can achieve a lot together.”
Rovers have released Andy Maddocks now that Paul Acklam is available again after completing a three-week suspension.
