Rovers put Enion in for Swans test

Gresley Rovers boss Frank Northwood has plucked teenage defender John Enion from the reserves for tonight’s Moat Ground friendly with rivals Stapenhill (7.45pm).
With the first team off duty on Saturday Northwood took time out to take a look at his back up squad and was impressed with the former Burton FA representative player.“I liked what I saw so he is in the squad for tonight. That’s what it’s all about,” said the Rovers manager.
Striker Brian Beresford however may be sidelined by an ankle injury and fellow striker Paul Acklam is definitely ruled out with a similar problem.
With defender John Bottomley struggling to get off work Northwood has picked a 16-man squad and will decide his team just before kick-off.
“I’m hoping for a good game of football,” said Northwood. “We should really play Stapenhill a couple of times a season – home and away. There should be a lot of goodwill between the clubs.”
Swans’ boss Mick Allsopp echoed those sentiments but declared that tonight’s result is “immaterial.” It’s just a friendly,” he said. “I hope there’s a big crowd, a lot of goals and a 5-5 scoreline.”
The Swans are also keen to keep match ready after a blank Saturday and Allsopp has named a 17-man squad.
