Happy and glorious – that’s Frank Northwood’s Gresley Rovers after retaining the Derbyshire Senior Cup in last night’s battle of Edge Hill.
Trailing after Stapenhill’s shock first leg win at the Moat Ground, holders Gresley roared back with first half goals from Steve Astley and Kieron Smith to maintain their grip on the trophy.Jubilant Rovers’ boss Northwood said: “Stapenhill had their little bit of glory at our place, but I always felt over the two games our extra class would tell. I was never worried about the outcome.”
