Frank Northwood last night issued a public apology to rival boss Alan Beaman – more than a week after launching a verbal broadside at Rocester.
“I said some harsh things about Alan and his team and I want to apologise,” said Gresley chief Frank Northwood. Now he’s hoping the Romans continue to do Gresley favours as the Banks’s League title chase moves towards its climax.
Said Northwood: “They’ve taken points out of most of our rivals and I’m hoping they keep up the good work to the end of the season. You never know, Alan and his boys might win us the title.”
Beaman commented: “We’ve no grudges against Gresley because of what Frank said. We’ll continue to look forward to playing against them.”
