Rovers fail in Huxford bid

Gresley Rovers hopes of luring Burton Albion midfielder Richard Huxford to the Moat Ground have been dashed by the Brewers demands for a transfer fee.
Albion boss Chris Wright has confirmed that the Banks’s League side are interested in the out-of-favour player but as yet made no cash offer.“Although Gresley are interested in the player I don’t see how we can sort things out at the moment,” said Wright.
“Gresley will have to come forward with payment but they don’t seem keen on that at the moment.”
But Huxford, currently playing for the reserves, may no figure in Wright’s long-term plans.
“He will have to improve a great deal,” the Brewers boss added.
