Paul heads home

Gresley Rovers new boy Paul Fernihough makes a swift return on Saturday to the club he helped become a leading rival for Banks’s League honours – in form Rocester.
Yet Fernihough, who shocked his former fans by quitting the Mill Street club on the crest of a wave before joining Frank Northwood’s title chasers, is not expecting a hot reception on his return to the Staffordshire village that Alan Beaman’s braves have helped put firmly on the soccer map.“I don’t think I’ll get any stick from the fans – they’re a great crowd there,” says the player who has figured both in midfield and defence during his brief career at the Moat Ground.
What Fernihough does anticipate, though, is a torrid time from his former teammates.
“No doubt about it, it’ll be a tough one. Alan Beaman will rev them up a bit and they’ll make it hard work for us.”
