Gresley Rovers boss Frank Northwood came up with the perfect answer to his critics today by setting up another top signing.
The Moat Ground chief has agreed terms with 22-year-old Oldbury United striker Tracey Norton and expects to complete his capture tomorrow night.Northwood said: “He’s a talented lad who’s just what we need at the moment. He’s capable of 20 goals plus in a season and is also very skilful.”
Norton is expected to team up with his close friend Ian Wells, now back in the fold at Gresley after settling his differences with Northwood.
Weekend capture Martin Haskins has been drafted into Rovers’ squad to face Tipton Town in the Banks’s League Premier Division at the Moat Ground tonight (7.30pm).
The 30-year-old former Atherstone centre half is preferred to Ray Skeemer as boss Frank Northwood looks for a return to winning ways. Midfielder Richard Denby returns to the side after missing the FA Cup defeat at Hinckley Town.
