Gresley Rovers go into tonight's Derbyshire Senior Cup third round clash at home to Graham Street Prims (7.45) without striker Mick Sandar after the front man broke his leg in a work accident.
The Rovers front man fractured his tibia when some concrete fell on his leg on Friday afternoon and he looks like being out of action until February at least.

Sandar becomes the second Moat striker to break his leg in the last year, with Neil Kitching only now contemplating a return to reserve team action after suffering the same fate 10 months ago.

Said Moat boss Brian Kenning: "You have to feel sorry for Sandar but he is a young lad and will soon get over it. It is a straight break and he was only kept in overnight while they put it in plaster. The good thing is, it is not a complicated break like Kitching's was and Sandar will soon get over it."

An injury to Sandar is the last thing the Moat boss needs as his side embark on a tricky week of cup action.

On Saturday Rovers will be at home to neighbours Rocester in the FA Trophy before tackling Hinckley United at the Moat Ground in the Dr Martens Cup on Tuesday.

Tonight, Kenning will be without suspended midfielder Mark Peters for a game in which the Moat boss believes his side will need to be on their guard.

"If we don't get our attitude right tonight we'll be in for a difficult evening," said Kenning.

"It is a big game for them and if we are not at our best it could result in a major surprise. But we want to do well in the cups. We let ourselves down in the FA Cup and we want to put thing right in the next week."

Kenning also revealed he is in talks with two players, although he was keeping his cards close to his chest on the matter this morning.

"I think they are the 110th and 111th players I have been after this season," joked the Moat boss. "We have had a lot of knock backs but I am hopeful with these two players."

Gresley from: Baldwin, Broadhurst, Bluck, Reynolds, Warren, Middleton, Gardner, Wardle, Coates, Devine, Allsop, King, Roberts, Tucker, Cheetham, Jenkinson, Simms.

Admission: Prices for tonight's clash have been reduced to £3 for adults and £1.50 concessions.
