Carry on, Frank

Frank Northwood is set to spend the rest of his managerial career at the Moat Ground.
Gresley Rovers ended speculation about the future of their controversial boss last night by offering him a two-year contract as his reward for steering Gresley to victory in the final of the Derbyshire Senior Cup.Northwood was not at last night’s committee meeting and was not available for comment today.
But he is almost certain to accept the offer, even though Banks’s title rivals Oldbury United are thought to be vying for his services.
Secretary Peter Jenkinson said today: “Frank has indicated to us that he plans to retire from management in a couple of years. The pleasing thing is that he would then like to stay with us in an advisory capacity.”
With the Senior Cup safely under lock and key at the Moat Ground, Rovers turn their attention to the title chase tomorrow when they visit arch-rivals Tamworth (3pm).
It is the first of three away games in five days, with trips to Westfields on Monday (3pm) and Tipton Town on Wednesday (6.45pm).
