Despite being without a fixture last weekend, other results went in favour of James Jepson's side. Rovers now find themselves outside the relegation zone by just a point, with the added advantage that teams below them no longer have a game in hand.More...
In squad news, Jack Andrews' injury, sustained in the defeat against Deeping Rangers a couple of weeks ago, isn't as severe as initially feared. He's back in contention for a place in the team. Goalkeeper Kara Ceesay appears to have recovered from his recent injury, while Alby Lansdowne is a major doubt and may need a late fitness check on an ankle problem.
On a positive note, Rovers have received a significant boost with the return of Finlay Barker from Lichfield City on dual registration forms. Barker, who left Rovers in November but remained registered with the club, has been out of the Lichfield squad recently due to injury. With Lichfield on the brink of clinching the Midland Football League title, the now-fit Barker has been allowed to rejoin Rovers for the upcoming crucial fixtures.
Ahead of the weekend's pivotal game, Jepson commented, "With the sad news earlier in the week that Marc Goodfellow has had to step down from his role due to health issues, we've used that to come together as a squad and play for Marc tomorrow."
He added, "The good news is that Jack Andrews is back in contention, Kara Ceesay has recovered from a slight groin strain, and Fin Barker returns to the club on dual registration with Lichfield City. After watching him train on Tuesday, I'm confident Fin will be a valuable asset for us. I'm excited to see him play for Rovers again."
Jepson concluded, "We have seven cup finals remaining, and we all know that every game is a must-win. With the new lads coming in, I'm looking forward to the match. The team I'm fielding will consist of players our supporters are familiar with ï¿1/2" local and popular figures within the community. So please continue to get behind the lads."
