Manager James Jepson commented: "We thank Massiah for his efforts and wish him luck."
He added: "It's one of those things in football. Mass came in and his first few games he did really well, but after picking up an injury, he hasn't been able to get into any kind of rhythm in terms of training and playing, so I've made the decision to go another way."
In other news, Jepson faces another setback with midfielder Tarun Rohilla potentially ruled out for the remainder of the season. Rohilla sustained an ankle injury during a university training session last week. While initial fears of a fracture have been dismissed, the confirmed ligament damage is expected to keep him sidelined for 6-8 weeks.
