Marandola is the man

Gresley Rovers boss Frank Northwood has moved quickly to replace sacked coach Glen West.
His new second-in-command is former Shrewsbury, Walsall and Bournemouth star Phil Marandola.

Marandola, a former coach and manager at Wolverhampton United, has been out of the game for a while but is looking forward to the challenge.

Frank has been pestering me to work with him for some time and I feel the time is right, he said on Saturday. Were well placed for the championship and Im very keen to see us in the Southern League.

Marandola saw Rovers for the first time on Saturday as they won an extraordinary game 5-3 ironically at Wolverhampton.

I was very disappointed in the first half but the lads came back well to win the game, he said. Ive no ambition to be manager at Gresley. I just want to coach the lads.
