Sturgess Steps Up As Player/Coach
Jacob Sturgess will join the coaching staff as a player-coach under the interim management of Paul Tomlinson and Gary Norton, following the recent announcement that Carl Abbott will be stepping away from football indefinitely after this weekend.
Sturgess brings a wealth of experience and has consistently delivered strong performances whenever called upon this season. He is highly respected by both his teammates and the club’s supporters for his dedication and commitment.Commenting on Sturgess’s addition to the backroom team, Gary Norton said, “Jacob possesses many exceptional qualities and a solid understanding of football, particularly in areas like fitness and nutrition, elements that can sometimes be overlooked at this level.”
He added, “His passion on the field is evident, and his leadership skills are assets that Tommo and I believe will be invaluable to the team in the interim, especially following
the recent departure of Danny Holmes to Stoke City Academy.”
