Squad News For Wisbech game
Gresley Rovers go into Saturday's trip to Wisbech Town (3pm) without the services of attacking duo Kane Lee and the now clear of suspension, Danny Munday.
Lee is missing through a personal commitment (attending a wedding) and unfortunately, following completion of a 3-match suspension, Danny Munday has decided to take an extended break from football in order to focus his time on work commitments. The news on Munday’s decision is especially frustrating given the positive performance he had started to put in prior to his sending off against AFC Mansfield a couple of weeks back.

The club is also pleased to welcome back former Mansfield goalkeeper Louis Turner, who enjoyed an impressive stint with the club last season. Jack Sandel has been on a dual registration loan from Stafford Rangers and had done very well in recent games but with manager Carl Abbott looking for something a little more permanent following the unfortunate injury to Charlie Wood, seized the opportunity to bring Turner back to the club. Louis is registered and available to make his debut this weekend.
Reserve team player Ethan Goodfellow is also included in the squad makes the trip whilst fellow youngsters Phil Kowalski and Jono Dawkins are included in the Reserve team squad who are set to play Mickleover at the Moat ground (2.45pm kick off).
Rovers go into the game looking for a 4th straight league win against a side who will be buoyed by an impressive 4-1 win against Sleaford Town in midweek in a win that saw them move off the bottom of the table.
Manager Carl Abbott is missing this weekend due to being out of the country on a trip arranged prior to his appointment and so the team will be led from the dugout by former manager and current Chairman Gary Norton supported by Reserve team manager and Director of Football Matt Toulson. From a coaching staff perspective, Assistant manager Paul Tomlinson is suspended and the recently added Danny Holmes is unavailable due to a pre-arranged personal commitment, whilst first team coach Owen Barry is also missing due to work commitments leaving Norton to take charge of the team for the day.
