Gresley Rovers FC have parted company with first team manager Marc Strzyzewski.
The decision comes after a challenging season that saw Rovers relegated to the United Counties League after finishing bottom of the Northern Premier League Midland Division.
With the league season ending four weeks ago and chairman Gary Norton intimating in a recent supporters forum that Strzyzewski might be given an opportunity to rebuild in pre-season, the news will come as somewhat of a surprise to the clubs supporters.

On the decision Norton said: "Gresley Rovers Football Club would like to express its sincere gratitude to Marc for his hard work during his short time with us. “Ultimately, despite the tight financial situation Marc had to operate within, we still felt we should have won more games which would ensure our survival at step 4 which was the minimum objective when Marc was appointed. Whilst I went on record in a recent supporters’ forum with a personal view that Marc might be given the opportunity to rebuild during pre-season if we were relegated, that decision was always going to be subject to collective board agreement”.
He added: “Over the last few weeks a series of discussions have been held following an end of season review with Marc and after a period of reflection and deliberation the decision has been made to change managers for next season. Of course, the club wishes Marc and his coaching team the very best of luck moving forwards”.
The search for a new manager begins and the club invite interested parties to formally apply by emailing a covering letter and CV to info@gresleyrovers.com.
