In other news, the squad is boosted by the addition of a hat-trick of new signings in Jenson Cooper, Ainsley Finney and Omreiki Myles.
Cooper has experience in the league having previously been at AFC Rushden and Diamonds and Walsall Wood. He signed for Redditch United in the summer but found himself recently making the move to Belper United in search of game time. The former Shrewsbury Town academy player adds a much needed attacking option to the squad and is described as “an old fashioned number nine who is strong, quick and aggressive”.
Speaking about his new signing manager Marc Strzyzewski said: “Jenson’s representatives at Route One Sports Management contacted me on Tuesday stating that Jenson, who is local to Gresley, was on the look out to get back to step 4. We kindly accepted the offer and look forward to working with him. I would like to go on record and thank Belper and Manager Alex Steadman in their help and cooperation in making this happen given he recently registered for them”.
He continued: “We have also secured the services of another forward in Ainsley Finney from Newark and Sherwood, Ainsley is an experienced, strong and hardworking forward who certainly knows where the net is. After speaking to him this week he took no time in accepting the challenge to join us in our bid to climb up the table and we are delighted to have him on board.
Midfielder Omreiki Myles, 19, has also signed for the club from Rugby Town. Omreiki was previously with Aldershot Town's Academy before a spells Isthmian League outfit Hartley Wintney FC and Rugby Town. On his third addition of the week Strzewzski said: “Omreiki is a high energy midfielder with good technical ability and a good range of passing and is another player who was keen to come in and help us in what we want to achieve here at Gresley”.
