It is the first resignation to hit the Banks�s League this season. Armitage, Brereton�s neighbours, withdrew three days before the start of the campaign after encountering similar problems.
Neither Rovers nor Tamworth, one of their main rivals for the Banks�s League title, will lose any points as a result of Brereton�s record being expunged.
