Gresley Rovers are delighted to announce that we have taken another hugely significant step forward in progressing towards a move to a new stadium.
Club owner Pete Robinson and his legal team have today confirmed that the proposed piece of land the club is looking to move to is now formally owned by Mr Robinson having legally exchanged contracts on the piece of land situated on the border of Gresley and Albert Village.
Chairman Gary Norton commenting on the latest news said: “Our long awaited proposed move to the new stadium is still of course subject to formal and final planning permission being granted by the local authorities but this news is a huge step forward for the club and great news for our supporters. He continued: “In relation to planning permission there is still a little work to do on ecology reports and other associated aspects related to that being achieved and as frustrating as things are in relation to this, we need to continue being patient until that final decision is announced.
“However, the news that as a club we are now in formal possession of the land we hope to build our new stadium on is without doubt huge news for the club and a most significant step forward towards achieving our dream which has been over 30 years in the making.
“As always we thank our owner Pete Robinson and his team for their relentless and continued work in pushing us forward on this.”
