Gaz Norton's Reserve Team News
The reserves were in cup action last night in the Semi Final 1st leg of the Challenge Trophy at Reserve Division champions elect Solihull Borough.
Obviously at the time of writing the result was not known, but hopefully we will be in control of the game at “half time” before the 2nd leg here on the 30th of the month.

Last Saturday saw us in action at Shepshed Dynamoe and we bounced back to winning ways with a 1-0 win. Mykey Price got the all important goal early in the 2nd half and the way we played, it really should have been 2 or 3-0. Greg Smith was the pick of the bunch with a superb performance in the middle of the park and Paul Grosse had one of his best game this season at centre half.

We have only 3 league games left and my target for the season is to finish in the top 3. Looking at the league table, this is a very tough but achievable task. If we manage to do that and reach a cup final, it will have been a successful season for all involved with the Reserves.

Reg Shorthouse will be a character familiar with many Moat Ground regulars and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Reg for all the help he has afforded me during my 1st season in management at this level. Resource with the Reserves is quite sparse in terms of off the field support so any help I get is a bonus. I have Simon Van-de-Broucke who is my assistant as well as coach and acting physio. He shares much of the responsibility for the running of the team but Reg, who is my match day secretary often goes outside the realms of his duties to help and assist Simon and I with countless other tasks that assist us in the smooth running of the team. He has also been a supportive ear to bend when I’ve needed to bounce ideas off him. Reg is Gresley Rovers through and through and without his help and council this season it would have been very difficult indeed. So thanks Reg.

We are in Moat ground action on Saturday when we entertain Bedworth United. It would be great to see as many of you here as possible.

Regards
