Swindon Supermarine pre-match news.
Alan Titterton is again being hindered by injuries as he decides on the side to face Swindon Supermarine at the Moat Ground tomorrow (3pm).
“It’s very hard to put a run together when you can’t put out a settled side. My hands are tied at the moment. I could not go out and sign lots of players because there just wasn’t enough time.” said Titterton. Stuart Evans (back), Barry Woolley (back) and Dave Whittaker (knee) are all struggling to recover from their injuries and will be missing from the line-up.
Aidan Callan missed training midweek due to a slight knee problem but should be OK.
Mark Peters will probably be out for a few weeks after sustaining a knee injury against Atherstone United last Saturday.
“I’m hoping that Evans, Woolley and Whittaker will be back to face Alfreton Town at the Moat Ground in the Derbyshire Senior Cup on Wednesday because we need as many players as possible. We will have some sort of training before Wednesday and I know that everyone wants to play in the final and at least it is a two-leg game so it gives them a chance.
“Whether those players who are out at the moment come straight into the side will depend on how fit they are and how the team plays tomorrow.”
Chris Gray will return to the side after a two-match suspension and new signing Owen James should again feature.
“We need to be on our guard because Swindon have put a bit of a run together and are fighting for points to avoid relegation so it won’t be easy. We need a better home performance than against Atherstone although I thought they played a lot better at Shepshed.” said Titterton.
The club is still waiting to hear what punishment Ian Bluck will receive for his red card at Shepshed on Monday.
