New Duo
Wednesday evening's home game against Cirencester saw the debut of John McGinlay's latest signings: Leek Town's top scorer Dave Whitaker and midfielder Aidan Callan.
26 year old Whitaker had previously played for Crewe, while Callan, 26, had a spell at Stoke City.

John McGinlay commented: "Whitaker was Leek's top scorer, and I'm hoping he is the player who can come in and score regularly, a 25 goals-a-season striker.

"Having someone like that can make the difference between being a mid-table side and a top six side, and it's something we've needed this season.

"He's a good, tall player, and a strong lad who can put himself about.

"Callan is a good footballer who has been at the professional level with Stoke and knows what the game is about."

Both players made a good first impression, each scoring against Cirencester, helping the Moatmen to their 4 – 2 home victory.

Gresley now lie in 6th position in the Dr Martens League Western Division.
